Air Compressor and Piping System
OBJECTIVE
Compressed Air
Systems in any manufacturing plant is as important as electricity and
water supply network. Any disturbance in compressed air supply will
invariably cause downtime and quality defects in the manufactured product.
Leakage in compressed air system results in energy wastage hence energy
cost will increase.
The plant operation
or maintenance personnel must understand the fundamentals underlying the
compressed air system’s design and operation in order to be able to keep
the compressed air system in good working condition, hence improve overall
plant efficiency and productivity.
It is also important for project engineers to grasp the practical design
principles in dealing with compressed air system so that they can specify
and select the appropriate compressor and associated compressed air system
equipment in any compressed air plant.
