Sprinkler System and Fire
Protection
OBJECTIVE
“There’s no legal requirement for the maintenance of
your fire protection system”, but all that has changed. With the implementation of the
Fire Services (Fire Certificate) Regulation 2001, owners of designated
premises are liable and responsible for their fire protection systems to
be in place and to be in order.
The Fire Certificate
is not about getting a Certificate of Fitness but about the maintenance of
your fire protection systems. It is critical to maintain fire protection
system as it is to install them in the first place. Care and maintenance
include more than just inspection and testing of devices and
equipment. If protection is to be effective, the proper relation
between hazard and protection must be maintained. This calls for an
understanding of compliance of fire protection designs and
installations.
The
objectives of this course covers the basic design of the fire
protection systems particularly automatic sprinklers to maintenance
and inspection of the systems.
Workshop coupled with
some video presentations will also be included to provide a better
understanding.
