Zero Equipment Failure Workshop
OBJECTIVE
Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is a company wide approach for reducing
equipment-related losses such as breakdowns, quality defects, and slow
changeovers. Autonomous maintenance is an especially important pillar of
TPM. It enlists
equipment operators to value machine as production partners by keeping
them operating smoothly and trouble-free. They
are the first line of defense against unplanned breakdown.
This course outlines the purpose of TPM and its basic concept of 6 major
losses. It takes us step-by-step through a cycle of equipment losses
identification. Elimination of these losses is essential to achieve the
TPM goals of “Zero Breakdown” and “Zero defects”. Theory is
reinforced with practical sessions to understand the concept.
